Summer Reading ChallengeClip art rocket flying around planet with text

Take part in an out-of-this-world adventure as this year’s summer reading challenge celebrates the 50th anniversary of the moon landing.

Children aged 4 years and older can join a mission to read six books from the library over the summer and will be rewarded with lots of stickers and free goodies along the way. If you complete the challenge, you will receive a super certificate and will be invited to an award ceremony to be presented with your Space Chase medal. There will also be a mini challenge for children ages three and under, with stickers to collect, so little ones can join in the fun too.

Throughout the summer, there will be lots of space-themed fun activities to enjoy in your local library, including pop-up planetarium at The Curve, along with our regular programme of events.

Joining the challenge is free and it runs until 14 September so there’s plenty of time to read your six books. Children need to be a member of the library to take part. It’s easy and free to join.

Be part of the Space Chase - reach for the stars and lift off to a universe of imagination!

Aged 14+? Want to volunteer to help out this summer with the challenge? There's still time apply (more information about summer volunteering).
